In the last 12 months, we've been treated to a slew of captivating films from visionary directors such as Martin Scorsese, Christopher Nolan, Emerald Fennell, David Fincher, Greta Gerwig, Hayao Miyazaki, Sofia Coppola, Ridley Scott, and Wes Anderson.
The silver screen has been graced with exceptional performances by Emma Stone, Bradley Cooper, Lily Gladstone, Cillian Murphy, Margot Robbie, Barry Keoghan, Colman Domingo, Paul Giamatti, Fantasia Barrino, and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Cinematic wonders like OPPENHEIMER, Yorgos Lanthimos' POOR THINGS, SALTBURN, MAESTRO, and KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON left us in awe — testaments to the impeccable craftsmanship of cinematographers, production designers, SFX artists, and costume designers.
Horror enthusiasts had a thrilling 2023 with standout titles like Danny & Michael Philippou's TALK TO ME, Brian Duffield's NO ONE WILL SAVE YOU, Demián Rugna's WHEN EVIL LURKS, Eli Roth's THANKSGIVING, and Brandon Cronenberg's INFINITY POOL — the year also brought us a trio of great franchise sequels: EVIL DEAD RISE, SCREAM VI, and SAW X.
In the animated realm, we were enchanted by movies like THE BOY AND THE HERON, SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE, TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: MUTANT MAYHEM, and THE SUPER MARIO BROS MOVIE.
Meanwhile, blockbusters like GODZILLA MINUS ONE, THE CREATOR, BARBIE, INDIANA JONES AND THE DIAL OF DESTINY, MISSION IMPOSSIBLE - DEAD RECKONING PART ONE, and GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 took us on unforgettable cinematic journeys.
It has been another stellar year for the world of cinema. With that being said, here are My 15 Favorite Films of 2023. Also included are My Top 20 Horror Films and My 12 Favorite Streaming Series.
